Grant Robinson Captures Two 2026 Illinois State Motocross Championships
Robinson goes 1-1 in both 250 C and Open C, leading every lap at MCMotoPark
MT. CARROLL, Ill. — August 23, 2026 — Grant Robinson #426 added two more state championships to his racing résumé Sunday with a dominant performance at the 2026 Illinois State Motocross Championships at MCMotoPark in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.
After deciding midweek to enter the event, Robinson lined up in both the 250 C and Open C classes and delivered a perfect day of racing. He went 1-1 in 250 C and 1-1 in Open C, capturing the overall victory and Illinois State Championship in both classes.
Robinson’s performance was dominant from the drop of the gate. He put together four strong starts, won all four motos and led every lap he raced.
The victories were particularly meaningful after Robinson’s recent trip to the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Following a get-off at Loretta’s that left him with a sore wrist, Robinson spent a couple of days riding and testing the wrist before making the decision to compete at MCMotoPark.
Once the gate dropped Sunday, there was little indication that the injury was going to slow him down.
MCMotoPark provided a demanding championship-level test. The track became increasingly rough and rutted throughout the day, with challenging conditions and large jumps requiring consistency and precision. Robinson handled the conditions while maintaining the lead from start to finish in each of his four motos.
